Lisa + Jesse ~ Love Comes in Three | West Hollywood, CA Wedding

If you know me well, you know there are few things I hold dear in my life. My circle of close friends and family, my strength and determination to create a life that continues to grow and challenge me, my ability to “log on” — because I am seriously addicted to checking my email (and Facebook I can’t lie!!), and the two loves in my life … Cheyenne + Tommy, who make everything in my life sparkle a little brighter. But there was a time in my twenties when there was no Tommy. It was just me and my Chey, leaving me to often wonder if I would ever meet someone who loved me — a single parent mom with a little girl. Frankly, I knew it would take someone really unique and special to love a child who did not share his blood but still embrace her like his own. Thankfully, in 1999 amid a world of a million AOL usernames, I happened to meet a special man in an AOL chatroom who grew to love Chey and I even more than I could have ever imagined 😉 (I’ll have to expand on this chance encounter in another blog post!!)

Well, about a year ago we had the pleasure of meeting a couple whose relationship shared a similar mold to ours. We first met Lisa + Jesse one early morning in 2010 at a Starbucks in Cerritos. They were sweet, they were beautiful and they spoke so lovingly of Jesse’s son Kingston. We eventually met this handsome little guy a few weeks later during their wonderful Engagement Session in downtown L.A. And within just a few minutes of being around this trio, I knew that Lisa — much like Tommy — was one of those special people … she not only had enough love in her heart for Jesse, but also embraced and adored Kingston like her own.

Our first wedding of 2012 was spent documenting this gorgeous couple’s union at The London in West Hollywood ~ and quite frankly I couldn’t think of a better couple to help us launch our second year as wedding photographers. Their day was filled with so much love and so many incredibly touching moments ~ reminding us both why we simply love what we do …

Here are some of our favorite images from their amazing wedding. Photos are really the only way to tell their story, but if I had to use words there’s only two that come to mind … utter perfection 😉

I love the mother of the bride’s reaction when she first sees her beautiful daughter …

Well hello there gorgeous. Lisa you are breathtaking …

Lisa + Jesse chose to see each other prior to the ceremony ~ which Tommy and I always welcome because it allows us more time for couple’s and bridal party + family photos! And this just happened to be one of the sweetest first looks we’ve ever captured, because both Lisa + Jesse were overwhelmed with excitement when they first laid eyes on each other …

I love our groom’s reaction to seeing his gorgeous bride — it was such a special moment, a groom truly humbled by his love’s beauty.

It couldn’t have worked out more perfectly ~ the bridal party was able to hang out on one of the room’s balconies, so there they are hollering and cheering on Lisa + Jesse in the background 😀

And YES, this bridal party was full of HOTTIES!

But the men weren’t too shabby themselves 😀

And of course, the star of the show Kingston. All decked out just like one of the fellas. Isn’t he adorable?

Their ceremony took place right as the sun set, perfect for the glowing lanterns that hung from above …

One of my favorite bridal party photos … of all time … *EPIC*

As your photographers we vow to always make the ladies look totally beautiful, and the guys look … cool and smooth. Exhibit A …

Although Lisa is currently completing her Masters Degree at Cornell University in NY, she also managed to plan, coordinate and create all the beautiful wedding details on her own. Yes, she was not only the fabulous bride but also the Day-of Coordinator/Wedding Planner and she did an amazing job!!! SuperWoman indeed, and frankly, a woman after my own heart 😉

Isn’t their cake topper perfect?

Midway through the reception, Lisa changed into exquisite traditional Chinese attire for their special tea ceremony to honor their Chinese + Japanese cultures. I love this special moment between Lisa + her mom ~ this beautiful gold jewelry was made just for her …

There was an abundance of love and heartfelt emotions shared during the speeches …

And of course, plenty of good times and laughter throughout the night …

Mr. and Mrs. Duron, you two are too hot for your own good 😉 I’m just sayin …

Lisa + Jesse, we know when you first hired us, you took a chance because we were just starting out, but we are so thankful you entrusted us with documenting your Big Day. We truly enjoyed being able to share in these special moments with you, your friends and your family *thank you* so much for letting us be a part of it all! We wish you guys all the wonderful blessings that come with love, family + marriage and much success in both of your careers. You know we adore all three of you and we hope you’ll always keep in touch! xoxo
