When I Was A Bride ~ MarieSam & Tommy
Yesterday I had the pleasure of having my first Wedding Consultation via iChat. It completely blew my mind that I was able to meet a bride for the first time, in person, through my computer ~ technology is sssssooo amazin these days! And if you don’t agree, then you should shut down your computer, remember to pay your cell phone bill, return that last Netflix Blue-ray disc you borrowed, recharge your Ipod, and renew your GPS subscription … uh huh, exactly. Ain’t it all so incredible??? 🙂
Besides being totally excited about being able to talk to a bride who happens to live all the way across the country, it gave me goosebumps to see the sparkle and smile in her eye when she spoke of her wedding. Sorta like a woman bearing child, there is a beautiful and unique glow in a woman’s face when the Big Day is just a little beyond the horizon. Because we essentially could only see each other’s faces through iChat, her glow, her happiness, her excitement filled the screen of my Macbook like a beautifully etched portrait. Her anticipation and excitement for her wedding was simply undeniable*
And for a moment, all those feelings I had as a bride-to-be just a little under a year ago came back to me. I felt a few tears well up in my eyes I spoke of my own wedding experience with her (yep, I know, like a total dork, lol). But just as they were a year ago, the dampness in my eyes stemmed from utter happiness and joy.
Remembering our Wedding Day, actually the entire Wedding experience, is something Tommy and I do all the time. We often look back at our wedding photographs and envision every feeling, every emotion, every scent that filled the air and recall all the laughter that surrounded us on that warm June night. It was truly the happiest times in our lives. And admittedly, I miss it all the time and constantly wish I could relive those entire two weeks over again.
This is why our pictures and our Wedding video are so precious to me … isn’t technology incredible?
