Shay + Tron | Los Angeles, CA Engagement Session

Tommy and I met at UCLA fraternity party. Well … at least that’s what we used to tell people during the first year of our relationship. Hahahaha, yeah we lied. Because in reality, when we met 12 years ago, telling people the truth about how we met online was sooooo taboo. I mean really, what would people think back then had they known we actually met on the internet … in an AOL chatroom … in an “I Love Black Men” chatroom … *sigh*

<Swish, whistle, screech, kerplat> Yeah, that’s my cool meter crashing to the ground. Underground. Never to be seen or heard from again LOL. Yes, Tommy and I met in a corny AOL chatroom and to our credit, we’re still together aren’t we? ๐Ÿ˜‰ And now, 12 years later, whenever we come across a couple that met on the internet, you know the words “OMG so did we!” cannot wait to leap outta my mouth. It’s no longer taboo these days. In fact, it’s so commonplace. So I guess, we are are actually trailblazers in modern romance. How’s that for a cool comeback? ๐Ÿ™‚

Well last month, Tommy and I had the pleasure of meeting a modern day couple who also met on the internet, in a forum, by noticing each other’s comments. Shay said she and Tron used to go head to head commenting back and forth. And, they actually didn’t like each other at first … she was a Lakers fan (*WOOT*WOOT*) and he was a Lakers hater (*BOO*BOO*BOO*).ย But then, something changed. The competitive banter took a complete 180 and before they knew it, the handsome New Orleans native found himself moving to L.A. to be with the beautiful California girl who bled purple and gold … who despite her Lakers love somehow made him laugh and made him smile, and made him love like never before …

The day we met up with this gorgeous couple for their engagement session at LACMA, it happened to be Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat. And yanno, how important that pivotal Game 3 is right? Trust me, I too heard it from Tommy about the bad timing. And being a sports fan myself, I felt extra guilty when Shay told us that Tron was disappointed he was missing part of the game. But a few minutes into our session and after a couple kisses and laughs between this beautiful pair, it was clear that once again, Love had conquered basketball …
