Old Orange County Courthouse Wedding Photos | Santa Ana, CA Photographer | Bridgett and Luz
We have shot weddings both big and small and no matter the size, the element that remains the same is — Love. A few months ago we had the privilege to document an intimate Wedding ceremony for Bridgett + Luz at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana, CA and besides the overflow of love for this gorgeous pair, there was also plenty of laughter and joy. These are the days when I truly feel the luckiest 🙂
When Bridgett mentioned that they were getting married at the Santa Ana Courthouse, I have to admit, in my mind I envisioned what I’ve known most courthouses to be — a big square building that is usually plain and simple. I had no idea, their courthouse would be the exact opposite. This courthouse also known as the Old Orange County Courthouse is quite frankly, an amazing space. This landmark is Southern California’s oldest court building, but the exterior brick walls and majestic ceilings of this building are absolutely beautiful. For couples who have their heart set on a simple courthouse wedding, I strongly suggest tying the knot at this location. The courtroom where the ceremony takes place is set aside for reservations only so couples and their guests have complete privacy and use of the room — which is also exquisitely designed.
We first met Bridgett + Luz right after we got married almost 7 years ago during a birthday celebration for our mutual friend Brandie, who happens to be one of Tommy’s closest and dearest friends. Even back then, amid the loud music and dark club lighting (and possibly some mixed drinks hahaha), it was hard to ignore the sweet connection these two shared. So when Bridgett reached out to me about shooting their wedding ceremony, we knew right away it would be a beautiful day to be a part of.
Bridgett + Luz, your celebration reminded us exactly why we love being wedding photographers — when two people who are meant to be, find each other in this big crazy world, magic happens. It was such an honor to witness the pairing of your hearts and souls on this special day and we could not be happier for the two of you! We hope your lives are filled with many more adventures, an abundance of incredible travels and lots of happiness and laughter in between.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be a part of you two making it official 🙂
Here’s a glimpse of some of our favorite snapshots for their Wedding celebration at the Old Orange County Courthouse …
Everytime I see this picture it makes me smile — there is truly no substitute for pure joy …
The interior of this courtroom is so beautiful — we made sure to take advantage of the extra time we had following the ceremony with a few intimate photos with the newlyweds. The exterior of the courthouse was the perfect setting for some post-ceremony celebratory photos! It’s not every day that the bride can say she also made her own wedding cake — but Luz did just that. Luz is an AMAZING chef and also the woman behind The Authentic Kitchens. She created this beautiful naked cake made of purely fresh ingredients, and it not only looked incredible, it was even more delicious!!!They had the most beautifully thought out details — from Bridgett’s suit and bowtie, to Luz’s lovely lace dress, and their gorgeous pastel-inspired bouquet, to their gorgeous Tiffany & Co. rings. Everything was so stylishly yet effortlessly put together for their Wedding Day. It’s always a good day when we get to photograph such pretty details …
I am convinced the sweetest moments are made even better with laughter 🙂
