They met in high school playing cards together during lunch breaks. But little did they know that after years of hanging out together and sharing delicious meals (without the card games), they would eventually be sharing I Dos.

Last year we had the pleasure of photographing the engagement session of Eddy + Amy, although it was not the first time they’ve been in front of our cameras. You see, Eddy has been a groomsman in two weddings we’ve previously photographed, and Amy has been a bridesmaid in one wedding we photographed. But to have them together in front of our cameras as a couple and in celebration of their love and commitment to one another was a first … these two are so perfect together, I honestly could have photographed them all day long …

THE LOCATION: THE L.A. ARBORETUM & BOTANIC GARDEN

Southern California is filled with so many gorgeous locations for engagement sessions and while we certainly have our favorite spots to shoot at, it excites me to no end when a couple wants to do their session somewhere we’ve never been to. When Eddy + Amy told us they wanted to do their session at the Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden, I immediately knew that we would have an abundance of gorgeous settings to work with.

The L.A. Arboretum is an amazing 127-acre botanical garden  located in the city of Arcadia. From a gorgeous bamboo forest to a lovely pond surrounded by lush greenery, this gorgeous space provides every type of nature-inspired setting you can think of. It has absolutely turned into one of my favorite locations for portrait sessions — you just can’t go wrong here.
