Center for the Arts Eagle Rock Wedding Photos | Los Angeles, CA Photographer | Ruth and Taylor
We couldn’t have started our 2015 wedding season in a more perfect way than photographing Ruth and Taylor’s Wedding celebration at the Center of the Arts Eagle Rock in Los Angeles, CA.
After spending some time with this fun-loving couple during their Engagement Session earlier this year, we knew their Wedding would be nothing short of incredible — and it was that, and so much more. Having been brought up in families whose parents work as missionaries, Ruth and Taylor have a relationship built on love, faith and family. They are devoted to God, to each other, to their families and to serving others. On their Wedding Day, their guests traveled from near and far from different corners of the earth to celebrate their union. And I cannot tell you how wonderful and touching it was to be surrounded by so many people who love and support this beautiful pair.
“Breathtaking,” is the only word I can use to describe Ruth + Taylor’s incredible wedding venue. This was our first time shooting at the Center of the Arts Eagle Rock and I certainly hope it won’t be our last. This amazing space was formerly part of the historic 1914 Carnegie Library building, and the walls and ceilings of this building are simply beautiful. It is truly the perfect spot for a couple looking for a spacious but intimate wedding venue showered by gorgeous natural light — the large window toward the front of the venue along with the wooden beams and grand arches throughout seriously rock my world — can you tell I adore this center? 🙂
It’s an amazing thing when Love grows when you least expect it — because love always finds a way. Ruth + Taylor first met when a mutual friend of theirs hosted a Halloween party. After their first encounter, the two connected on social media but didn’t talk again for another eight months — timing is everything isn’t it? 🙂 When they eventually decided to hang out again, Ruth came to realize they were opposites in many ways including their tastes in movies, music, books and foods. But they also discovered they were similar in their upbringings as third culture kids and most importantly, they shared the same desire to grow more in character, faith, in work and relationships. So they continued to hang out and their friendship blossomed into love — the kind of connection that would eventually lead to a promise to love one another for a lifetime.
Ruth + Taylor from the minute we sat down with you in our home, we knew your Big Day would be a beautiful one filled with so much love, family and friendship. Little did we know, the Wedding Day would actually go beyond those expectations — the entire day was perfect. We cannot thank you enough for letting us be a part of your celebration and we hope these photos will always hold a special place in your hearts!
Here are some of our favorite moments from this beautiful pair’s Wedding Day …
Wedding Colors: Green and Gray
When one of our couple’s decides to opt for a First Look, it gives our timeline a lot more breathing room, to capture lots of romantic portraits and intimate moments between just the Bride and Groom before the whirlwind of the day’s festivities …
I love the beautiful simplicity of these bouquets — fragrant Eucalyptus leaves with a blend of wildflowers inspired by the bride and created by her awesome Wedding Coordinator Emilee Sutherland of Tasteful Tatters!
Three gorgeous sisters …Um hello Vanity Fair spread!!! Such a good looking bridal party, don’t you think? The way these two look at each other melts my heart — they are truly made for one another …Emilee and her Tasteful Tatters team did an incredible job adding simple but impactful elements of lavish greenery to compliment the rustic wood elements throughout their wedding venue. Truly one of my most favorite wedding moments of all times — the emotion and beauty of this moment between the couple and their parents was palpable …Ruth, who happens to be an incredible artist and also the owner of Doodle Bubble Designs, created the beautiful table numbers herself along with all the beautiful lettering details!
Amazing love story. I am in you and you in me, mutual in divine love.
