After our prom session with Niki and Sagar at the Sergerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA, we had a chance to do a quick session with their friends and fellow classmates at Whitney High School, Jadelyn and Carlo, before they headed out to their Prom.

THE LOCATION: SERGERSTROM CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Carlo was actually the person who first reached out to me to book a prom session for the two couples. And he was instrumental in picking out a location that would blend in well with each couple’s classy attire. I have to say, I absolutely love that it is a growing trend for students to opt for professional portraits on Prom night! After all, if you’re all decked out and looking great, why not remember such a special night with beautiful pictures!?! Right? 🙂

This couple was a little nervous about shooting portraits, and totally get it (I was a wreck before and during my own engagement session!!!). Most people have never done a professional on-location portrait shoot, so I totally understand how nerve wracking it can be to have our cameras clicking away at your every move. But like all subjects who get in front of our frame, it just take a little relaxing and laughter, and then they’re absolute pros. These two looked great!!!

A great icebreaker for nervous couples is asking them to dance like nobody’s watching, because no matter what, this task usually elicits plenty of laughter 😀 I love these genuinely fun-filled moments!!!I love this image of Jadelyn, she looks AMAZING and so happy!!!
