Renee + Ramon | Santa Ana, CA Anniversary Session
Love. It is the what inspires our work. In every photograph we take, I see love — the love between a couple, the love between a mother and her child, the love between two siblings, the love shared by a family. We document moments inspired by love, and that’s pretty awesome. I often get asked what it’s like to work with Tommy by my side and how we manage to not drive each other crazy. Well … I can honestly say, I love working with him and we work best as a pair. Although I’m pretty sure it’s not without a little crazy mixed in between hahaahah 😀 But I think above all, the ability to be storytellers with our cameras has given us the unique opportunity to always be in the presence of love — in its many wonderful forms. And because of that, we are constantly reminded of how wonderful love truly is and we’ve learned to appreciate each other more because of it.
Anniversary sessions are among my very faves because it celebrates love that has withstood the test of time. Over the holidays we got the chance to photograph one of our favorite couples EVER — Renee + Ramon — with a quick anniversary session while they were visiting from Maryland. This lovely pair has been together for 10 years now and actually just celebrated their three year wedding anniversary. They met as freshmen at Lynchburg College in Virginia and have been joined at the hip and heart ever since 🙂 Beyond the uncanny coincidence that they share the exact same birthdate, and have the same initials, I honestly cannot think of two people who are more perfect for each other. She’s the yin to his yang, he’s the the peanut butter to her jelly, the calm to the other’s storm. They are like the pieces of a puzzle that only has two pieces, and they are perfect … together.
It is love like theirs that lets me know that soulmates really do exist! Here are a few of our favorite images from this beautiful pair’s nature-inspired anniversary session …
Yes when you’re in love, it rains rose petals 😉Â
