On the Eve of Our First Wedding of 2015 | Personal

Having been a wedding photographer for more than four years now, I thought I’d be at the point where the nerves leading up to the wedding wouldn’t get to me. But on this night, about 12 hours from the start of our 2015 wedding season, it feels like the day before a new school year ๐Ÿ™‚ Our equipment has been cleaned, prepped, packed and ready to go since last night, I’m trying to decide what to wear and making sure my alarm clock is set so I wake up on time. I am excited, a little nervous and so looking forward to launching this new year of weddings with the exchange of vows for a wonderful couple ~ Ruth + Taylor!

One of my high school teachers, Mr. Noble, told me a long time ago that a little nervousness is good, no matter how long you’ve been in your profession. Because it just means you’re still passionate about what you’re doing in your career. So I’m going to take what he said to “high school me” a long time ago and embrace it.

I love being a wedding photographer, I love being there in the midst of these beautifully important days, and I love being able to play such an instrumental role in freezing these precious moments of time in a couple’s lives. And on that note, here’s a quick peek of the beautiful couple I get to spend my Sunday photographing. Just a tiny peek, as the rest of the session will be blogged next week, and since tomorrow is the first day of school, I should really get to bed ๐Ÿ™‚
