Bridals | So Cal Shootout Seal Beach #2

I love photographing couples. No, I actually LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it ๐Ÿ™‚

It fills my insides with butterflies when I look through my lens and find two people totally smitten with each other on the other end. There’s just something so incredible about seeing that spark of electricity between a pair in love. And for me a couple’s synergy provides a unique energy that I can use to fuel my creativity and … I adore it, I love it, and frankly I’m sorta addicted to it. Yes, I’m addicted to love and the beauty of its presence especially when I’ve got a good ol’ camera in my hands …

Now an entirely different dynamic when it comes to photographing couples occurs when it comes to the Wedding Day because unlike an engagement, Day-After, or Trash-the-Dress session, the Big Day often comes with an impacted schedule and lots of extra stress and commotion. Dealing with these fluid elements can be quite challenging at times, but the intensity of the day always comes with lots of excitement for me because frankly couples just look so darn fabulous on their Wedding Day! And as a photographer, I feel it’s my job to make sure my images reflect the couple’s connection … their sweet nuances … their delicate love … and of course their undeniable beauty. Bottom line is, I want my couples to look at their photographs and instantly think “DAMN, we look good!” Because truly, you do ๐Ÿ˜‰

A few months ago, Tommy and I participated inย the So Cal Shootout in Seal Beach and part of this day of learning was dedicated to wedding bridals — posing couples, being creative with shots and using light and textures in the most effective and flattering way.

Here are some images we captured of the lovely couple we worked with … and yes, they’re total pros and fabulous indeed!
