The J-Claire Workshop | Coto de Caza Couple’s Session

With the start of 2011 I made many promises to myself … eat better (still workin on that), exercise more (have yet to work on that), get more sleep (hmmm … it’s now 3:26 a.m. so obviously I need work on that, LOL), and become a better photographer. Well I can proudly say, that I’ve been working hard on the last of those promises ๐Ÿ˜‰

Part of being a better photographer is the willingness to learn and soak in all the knowledge you can from other successful photographers in the business. And in January, I had the pleasure of learning from one of the very best in the wedding industry ~ the one and only Jessica Claire.

Aside from creating the oh so wonderful Shootsac — a phototgrapher’s must-have shooting bag — Jessica produces some of the most deliciously beautiful wedding images. And thanks to my good friend and fellow colleague Shanda Hudson, I was able to take part in Jessica’s most recent workshop.

It was a day spent learning about her approach to photography, shooting style and her post-processing format. I learned so much that day and also met some pretty fabulous photographers from all over the world, including a pair who flew in all the way from Europe. But one of the best parts of the day was actually going out to shoot a couple’s session at Riley Wilderness Park with a beautiful twosome.

Here are some images from that couple’s session. Let’s just say, finding an angle amongst at least 15 other great photographer can be quite difficult, but it’s a challenge that I always welcome … especially when the couple looks as good as this ๐Ÿ˜‰

On a side note, I honestly can’t wait to go back to this beautiful spot to do another session, it really is picture perfect!
