I love surprises, especially when I am an integral part of them 🙂 So when Caitlin + Becca reached out to me with plans to do a surprise family session for their parents, I was a bit giddy. OK, I”m lying … super giddy. 😀

We met up with this gorgeous family of four at Riley Wilderness Park in Coto de Caza, and though it was overcast for most of the day, it’s like the Photography Gods knew I was coming and blessed us with the perfect amount of sunlight just as we were starting our session. And once the gals’ parents realized we were doing family portraits, they were over-the-moon thrilled. Mind you, this is a family of photographers and artists, but I think they secretly also work as supermodels. 😉 Exhibit A + B …

Here are some of our favorites from this beautiful afternoon with the Gillenwaters. We love being able to spend time with such great families, especially ones who love to laugh with each other. Being able to witness such special connections frame after frame, is like the gift that keeps on giving!
