I’m not quite sure what it is, but lately Tommy and I have had the pleasure of shooting the most fun-loving and amazing couples … especially when it comes to engagement sessions. About a month ago, we met up with another adorable couple ~ Heather + Steven ~ on the shores of Laguna Beach on a picture perfect Sunday afternoon. It was definitely a flip-flop wearing day, but little did we know that most of this session would require no shoes at all 😉

Heather + Steven will be exchanging their vows next spring on the Yale University campus, where their romance first began when they were students at the school. Since the celebration will be in Connecticut, this beautiful pair decided they wanted engagement photos that captured the essence of Southern California living. And of course, nothing says California lovin & livin quite like the beach!

Our session started off with a wine picnic on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, and yes, I couldn’t ask for better light that day. The sun-kissed haze embraced their love like a glove and quite honestly, Tommy and I could have probably threw our cameras into automode … these two compliment each other perfectly. Between the loving smiles and sweet kisses, it was impossible to take a bad photo of them …

And when a heart-shaped cactus finds its way into your fram, you know it’s gonna be a good day 😉 Tommy discovered this little treasure …

Shooting on the beach was a little bit of a challenge because the tide was pretty high that day, so there wasn’t much shore to work with. But this couple threw on their beach wear and just rolled with the tide … Yes, I went there. I know that was horribly corny, but I couldn’t help it, hahahah 😉

 

Aren’t these two amazing together? These next couple shots totally remind me of a sexy Calvin Klein commercial … but clearly, this connection is far from acting …

Have I told you how much I adore couples who are up for anything all for the sake of awesome photos? Heather + Steven, you guys rock!!!!

At one point Heather was worried that getting her hair wet would leave her hair lookin a mess. Um … well yeah, I would say the exact opposite happened. Can you say ultimate beach babe? Somethin about beach hair is like “sexy” times a million … Heather, you are just too gorgeous for your own good …

 

Heather + Steven thank you so much for spending the afternoon with us, I have no doubt that your wedding next year is going to be every bit of fabulous!! We had so much fun with you guys and hope these photos always remind you of the kisses and laughter you shared under the Southern California sun. And though getting drenched by the waves wasn’t exactly how you envisioned your engagement session … I hope through wet toes, beach hair, and damp shorts … you both walked away a little more in love with each other than before the session began 😀
