Being a mother is hard, I’ve been reminded of that lately as a new mommy to an infant 🙂 We often forget how much these cute little humans called babies can flip your world upside down LOL. But in the same breath, I can honestly say, as difficult as it can be, there truly is no other job in the world that is also more rewarding than being a parent. There’s just something about those sweet little smiles and tiny giggles that makes you forget all about the fact that you’ve slept 10 hours in 5 days collectively … except when you look in the mirror and see tired eyes and messy hair, of course!

When we meet with couples for maternity sessions, I am always reminded of the nervous but excited anticipation that expecting a child brings — especially for first time parents! Mommies-to-be are always so beautiful to me — the glow in their skin, the gentleness of their hands resting on their baby bump … it’s really one of the sweetest things. Shooting these types of sessions is always a wonderful reminder of what a gift it is to have a child, to carry that heartbeat inside you and to welcome that little one into the world. Life is so amazingly beautiful …

It was hard for me not to smile when we met up with Hazel + Isaac for a maternity session a few months before the arrival of their baby girl Isabella.
