Family is everything.

It’s a belief I hold dear and simply the way I was brought up. So when Brendon + Rebecca mentioned that they wanted a wedding photographer who valued family photographs, it took everything in me not to get on the table, do a quick tap dance and end my routine with “Yep, I’m your girl!” *jazz hands* 😉 My family is notorious for taking a million family photos at every gathering and vacation. And that’s mainly because all 20+ people in our family usually has their own camera. Yes, we look like a group of tourist EVERYWHERE we go, it’s quite a sight to behold 😀 But as I look through the trillion and one family photo albums my mom has kept for all these years, I realize just how important these photos are in preserving the memories and special moments in our family’s lives.

A few weeks ago Tommy and I met up with Brendon + Rebecca for their engagement session at Mason Park in Irvine. It was a picture perfect Monday afternoon sprinkled with the perfect amount of California glow. And the minute I found out that Rebecca had designed and made her own yellow sundress, I knew my inner Vera Wang would love photographing this beautiful couple …

This twosome first realized at a church retreat that in each other, they had the found the perfect partner in marriage + life. So they kept their retreat wristbands and the books they read as momentos of this special time in their lives …

Not only did Rebecca make her beautiful sundress, she also made Brendon’s vest. Snazzy, don’t you think?
